Literary Links for June 2012

Here’s another – as CWM blog reader jackiejr1 suggested – “fascination” of links to places in the online literary landscape, which we hope you find of some interest.

  • Castlemaine author Carmel Bird has a new children’s picture book out: The Fabulous Finola Fox.
  • Have a read of the winning poem and short story from the 2012 Josephine Ulrick Prizes. Congratulations to Maria Zajkowski and Matthew Lamb.
  • Watch excerpts from Castlemaine’s own Klare Lanson’s “Cloud Mistress” soundscape/poetry installation.
  • Long-standing journal Going Down Swinging has launched a new blog called The Blue Corner.
  • Check out what was discussed as part of EWFDigital, the online component of the 2012 Emerging Writers Festival.
  • Speaking of festivals, the inaugural Bendigo Writers Festival is coming up in August, featuring Leigh Hobbs, Ita Buttrose and Margot Lanagan.
  • Read The Willow Pattern, the first collaborative e-novel to be written by 9 writers and edited to publication standard by 10 editors in just 24 hours.

As always, if you have something you’d like us to link to in our monthly round-up, or another suggestion for a collective noun for links, please drop us a line at or in the comments form below.
