About us

Castlemaine Word Mine was founded in 2011 as a support and promotion organisation for both writers in the Castlemaine region and writing and reading in general.

Castlemaine Word Mine is a member-based organisation managed by a volunteer board. Current board members are:

  • Ann de Hugard (President)
  • Tricia O’Hara (Secretary)
  • Mark Slattery (Treasurer)
  • Lisa D’Onofrio
  • Cath James
  • Katherine Seppings

We are based at the Anglican Parish Hall, on the corner of Forest and Kennedy Streets, in Castlemaine, just near the Castlemaine Railway Station.

  1. Hi there, I’m thrilled to have found you through you following me on Twitter. I just love the the whole idea of your group and the blog here is a great read. I’m Irish, living in Ireland. We have a Castlemaine here so when I saw the Twitter Follow, I never thought I’d be crossing the world. How a love of words can cross all sorts of distances in a magical way! Really looking forward to connecting!

  2. Hi any poetry reading today in Castlemaine?
