Performance & Launch: James Griffin

James Griffin is a songwriter, poet, music and spoken-word performer, a literary broadcaster. He has performed all over Australia, from tiny pubs to stadium gigs opening for  Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello.

James co-wrote Snake Skin Shoes, a top-ten hit for the Black Sorrows, and Changi Banjo, which won country music star Lee Kernaghan a golden guitar for heritage song of the year at the Australasian Country Music Awards.

As a broadcaster James has been the host of the Words literary interview program on ABC TV, the co-host of Australia Talks Books on Radio National and a music presenter on Triple J.

At The Comma, James will perform with guitar, original songs, poems and stories about living in Australia. James will also be launching and signing Songs for a Season at Ghost Town Bridge, a combined book and CD of original songs and poems set in an imagined country town. The work is a celebration of the key role of country towns in Australian life and culture.
